National Museum Of India
The National Museum Of India is the largest museum in India with variety of articles ranging from pre historic era to modern works of art. It is located in New Delhi, India on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad road. The national museum has a wide collection of over 200,000 art works of both Indian and foreign origin. The national museum of India covers the collection of archaeology, arms, armour, decorative arts, jewelry, manuscripts, paintings and more.
The present collection of national museum includes a total of 173 items. The jewelry collection includes number of sarpench, necklaces, waist belts, buckles, bracelets, anklets, armlets, toe rings, finger rings, pocket watches, watch chains, buttons and cuff links. Among the exhibited pieces, an imperial diamond called Jacob diamond is a fabulous piece weighing 184.75 carats.
