Semi Precious Stone Moonstone
Moonstone, one of the precious gemstone found in Sri Lanka, India, Madagascar, Burma and USA. Typically, it composes of aluminum silicate with chemical composition of KAlSi3O8. Plagioclase feldspar oligoclase also produces moonstone specimens.
The common variety of moonstone is the mineral adularia. The name moonstone is derived from the visual effect or sheen caused by the light reflecting internally in the gemstone from layers of different feldspar.
