Kunzite is a hard pink gemstone, a variety of spodumene with the awesome colour coming from manganese. It was named after George Frederick Kunz, who actually discovered it in Connecticut, USA in 1901. It is currently mined in Brazil, USA, Canada, CIS, Mexico and Sweden.
