Kremlin Armoury Museum
Kremlin Armoury museum is one of the oldest museums of Moscow established in 1808 and located in Moscow Kremlin. It originated as the royal arsenal in 1508 and the armoury was in charge of producing, purchasing and storing jewelry and various household articles of the tsars. In 1700, Kremlin armoury was enriched with treasures of golden and silver chambers of Russian tsars. Today, the Kremlin armoury museum is the home to Russian Diamond Fund. The unique collections includes Russian, western European and eastern applied arts. The highlights includes imperial crown of Russia, monomakh’s cap, ivory throne of Ivan the terrible, orloff diamond, the helmet of yaroslav, 12th century necklaces from ryazan, golden and silver tableware, articles decorated with enamel, niello and engravings, embroidery with gold and pearls.
