Great Chrysanthemum Diamond,
Great chrysanthemum is a 104.15 carats (20.830 g) pear shaped modified brilliant cut diamond. The Gemological Institute of America is rated the color of great chrysanthemum as a fancy orange brown and has I1 clarity. The origin of the diamond was found at South Africa diamond field. It was purchased by a New York jeweler, Julius Cohen as 198.28 carat in 1963.
In rough state, the diamond appears to be a light honey color. After cutting, great chrysanthemum founds to be a rich golden brown with overtones of sienna and burnt orange. The stone has won the title “diamond international awards winner” in 1965. It has been shown in several exhibits throughout United States.
