Glittering Stones
Excelsior Diamond,

Excelsior diamond was found on June 30, 1893 at jagersfontein mine weighted 971 old carats (194.2 g). Until 1905, till cullinan diamond was found, excelsior was the largest diamond in the world. The shape of the stone was extraordinary; one side flat and other is rose to a peak similar to the loaf of rye bread. This inspired to name the diamond as excelsior, meaning higher.
