Diamond Color Grading
Colorless diamonds & diamonds that are yellow or yellowish brown are grouped into different categories. This type of grading does not apply to fancy colored diamonds as they have their own color grading standards.
D-E-F
Colorless
There is a difference in between the colors of D, E, and F diamonds, it can be discovered only by a gemologist,by comparing with other diamonds and rarely by the untrained eye. D-F diamonds should be in the set of white gold / platinum. Yellow gold will reflects the color, negating diamond's colorless effect.
.G-H-I-J
Nearly colorless
The traces of color contains, G-J diamonds are suitable for a platinum or white gold setting, which would normally expose any hint of color in a diamond. Because I-J diamonds are more common than the higher grades, they tend to be a great value. An I-J diamond may gives half the price of a D diamond. Within the G-J range, price increase from 10-20% between each diamond grade.
K-L-M
Faintly tinted, usually yellow
The K diamondsare usually in yellow tint color ,which is more easily detected by the naked eye. yellow gold diamonds are warm colored diamonds make serious to some, and are an exceptional value. Others will think that they have too much color. Due to its perceptible color tint, a K diamond is of half the price of a G diamond.
N-O-P-Q-R
Lightly tinted, usually yellow. Tint can be seen with the naked eye

S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z
Tinted, usually yellow - brownish. Tint will be visible to the naked eye
S-Z diamonds have too much color for a white diamond. Lumera will not carry any diamonds in this color range. If you decide a diamond in this range, request a price quote using the custom diamond search
