The national museum is a Czech museum institution intended to establish, prepare and publicly exhibit natural, scientific and historical collections. At present, the national museum has almost 14 million items covering the areas of natural history, arts, music and librarianship, located in tens of buildings. The Czech national museum contains several million items of material concerning the areas of mineralogy, paleontology, mycology, anthropology, entomology, botany and archeology.
There are more than 10,000 exhibits of minerals, grinded gemstones, rocks, meteorites and tektites in the five halls and in the first hall, minerals from the whole world arranged according to the mineralogical system. Samples of pure copper, gold, silver, natural diamonds are on the showcases to attract the attention of the visitors.

The original collection of grinded gemstones and the showcase with glass imitations of the world’s most famous diamonds and the world significant collection of meteorites and tektites, moldavites and systematic collection are located in the right corner. There are grinded and natural crystallized minerals, diamonds, hardest and most popular gemstones like yellowish diamonds, fire red ruby, blue sapphire, colored varieties of topaz, aquamarine varieties and precious emerald, green Brazilian beryls and pink morganite which are unique in the world and deserves special attention.
Pink Kunzites, varicolored Tourmalines, Fluorites, Hematite, Sphalerite, fire red Garnets, green Olivines and the colored palette of various flint varieties and from pure rock-crystals Morions, Amethysts and Citrines to Agates and precious Opals are displayed in the hall. Largest exhibit can also be found for Czech gold nugget weighing 16.5 grams. Beautiful gemstone samples of agate and jasper, fire red Czech garnets and pyropes and diamonds was found.

Basic - 150 CZK
Reduced - 100 CZK seniors over 60 years, disabled persons, children 6–15 years old, High schools and University students (student ID card is necessary)
Family - 200 CZK max. 2 adults, all together 4 persons
School group with pedagogue - 50 CZK/person
Student ticket with 1 year validation - 250 CZK Validate 1 year from the date of acquisition
Fee for taking photos and videos - 50 CZK
Fee for guided tour - 50 CZK
Ticket with 3 days validation to all objects of the National Museum situated in Prague
