At the end of 4th to the end of 1st centaury BC the Citrine gemstone which was been used by the Greece people since the Hellenistic period.
Description
Citrine is a gemstone which is transparent, coarse-grained variety of the silica mineral quartz. Citrine is a semiprecious gem that is treasured for its yellow to brownish color and it is similar to the rarer topaz.
Natural citrine is rare compared to amethyst or smoky quartz, both of which are often heated to turn their natural color into that of citrine.
Color
Citrine color ranges from Pale yellow to a Madeira orange in all of its magnificent golden and yellow colors. The yellow color is from the presence of iron, the darker the color - the higher the grade.
Citrine as Birthstone
Citrine is considered to be the birthstone for the zodiac sign Scorpios (Scorpion) Oct 24-Nov 21. Its an anniversary gemstone for the 17th year of marriage.
Therapeutic ability
Citrine which is helpful in the treatment of depression, it also eliminates self-destructive tendencies. Citrine is said to stimulate memory.
