Calder Jewelry Exhibition
Calder Jewelry exhibition is the first exhibition devoted exclusively for jewelry work of American artist Alexander Calder, one of the most innovative and influential sculptors of 20th century. He is known for his sculptures and mobiles. The jewelry exhibition explores 100 pieces including necklaces, bracelets, brooches, earrings and tiaras. Also photographs exhibiting people who wore his jewelry.
Calder produced more than 1,800 pieces of jewelry right from 1906. Each jewelry piece is hammered, shaped and composed in a fashion that echoes the artist sculptures and the jewelry were coveted by surrealist circle. Previously, Calder jewelry was on view at Norton museum of art, Philadelphia museum of art and metropolitan museum of art in New York City. Calder jewelry features more than 450 bracelets, brooches, necklaces and rings.
